Prime Video has increased its subscription price in the Philippines

Prime Video has increased its subscription prices in the Philippines. The streaming service now costs ₱249 per month or ₱1,669 per year, higher than its previous rates. The new pricing takes effect this November.

The updated pricing is now listed on the Prime Video subscription page. Before the increase, subscribers paid ₱149 per month or ₱1,390 per year.

The monthly plan saw the bigger jump, increasing by ₱100. Meanwhile, the annual plan went up by ₱279. For existing subscribers, that means paying more to keep access to Prime Video’s catalog of movies, TV shows, Amazon Originals, and other content.

Amazon is also promoting the annual plan as the better-value option. Based on the current pricing, paying for 12 months at ₱249 per month would cost ₱2,988 in a year. By comparison, the annual plan costs ₱1,669, which works out to around ₱139 per month.

The streaming service says subscribers can save up to 44% by choosing the annual plan instead of paying monthly. That makes the yearly subscription the cheaper option for viewers who plan to stay subscribed throughout the year.

The price hike comes as streaming services continue to adjust their subscription costs. In comparison, Netflix’s Basic Plan starts at ₱279 per month, while Disney+ went up to ₱289 for its Standard Plan.
