Apple announces next‑gen Apple Intelligence

Apple has unveiled the next generation of Apple Intelligence, built on new Apple Foundation Models and integrated into iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and visionOS. The update brings smarter features to everyday apps while keeping privacy at the center.

Apple Intelligence powers advanced tools like photo editing with Spatial Reframing, Extend, and Clean Up. Safari gets smarter with tab organization, Notify Me alerts, and password upgrades.

Meanwhile, a new Image Playground lets users create photorealistic AI‑generated images directly within apps.

Communication also gets an upgrade. Messages and Mail now offer contextual suggestions, Smart Reply, and Call Context to surface relevant info during calls. Productivity features include natural language event creation in Calendar, smarter Shortcuts, and intelligent file naming.

HomeKit gains video summaries, while accessibility features expand with richer VoiceOver descriptions and improved Voice Control.

The update also introduces Siri AI, a redesigned assistant that’s more personal and conversational. Siri can search across messages, emails, and photos, answer questions, and take actions in apps. It comes with a dedicated app, writing tools, and Visual Intelligence for image understanding.

Apple Intelligence runs on‑device and in the cloud through Private Cloud Compute, ensuring personal data stays secure. Independent experts can verify Apple’s privacy protections.

Developer testing starts now, with a public beta next month. Full rollout begins this fall with iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, and visionOS 27. Supported devices include iPhone 16 and newer, iPhone 15 Pro models, iPads and Macs with M1 or later, Apple Vision Pro, and Apple Watch Series 9 and newer.

Some features will have usage limits tied to iCloud+ plans. Siri AI won’t launch in the EU initially for iOS and iPadOS, and it’s excluded from China due to regulatory requirements.
