DITO Verified ends the OTP era in the Philippines

DITO Telecommunity has launched DITO Verified, the country’s first silent network authentication service powered by Shush Inc. It replaces one-time passwords (OTPs) with automatic, secure verification built directly into the network.

The new system works quietly in the background, confirming user identity without the need to type codes or wait for SMS messages. It’s designed to make logins and transactions faster and safer, addressing common issues like phishing and SIM swapping.

The service aligns with global trends that focus on privacy, speed, and fraud prevention while keeping the process simple for users.

“Fraudsters today exploit weaknesses in legacy authentication methods. With DITO Verified, verification happens directly through the DITO mobile network — there is nothing for a scammer to steal,” said Atty. Adel Tamano, Chief Commercial Officer of DITO Telecommunity. “This is our commitment: to make the DITO SIM the most secure mobile identity in Philippine digital banking.”
