PLDT, Smart, and DITO Telecommunity signed a memorandum of understanding on July 3, 2026, to share networks and infrastructure. The deal aims to expand coverage and improve service reliability across the Philippines.
The agreement gives each telco rights to use the other’s towers, in-building facilities, and submarine cable capacity.

This setup cuts duplicate investments and allows capital to be used more efficiently. It also strengthens the country’s telecom backbone, making services more resilient.
PLDT Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan said telcos have a duty to connect the nation, stressing that cooperation is needed even among competitors. DITO CEO Eric Alberto called the deal a modest first step toward deeper collaboration, showing openness to future joint projects.
The partnership is expected to improve network resilience and efficiency, while giving more Filipinos access to reliable connectivity.
