A Filipino software engineer built TrainSight, an app that lets commuters monitor LRT and MRT trains in real time. It shows arrivals, departures, and delays across Metro Manila’s train lines.
TrainSight was developed by RJ Crusem, a 28-year-old commuter from Cavite. He created the app after dealing with long waits and sudden issues in train operations. Inspired by FlightRadar24, which tracks planes, Crusem designed TrainSight to use data from user devices and hardware trackers installed on trains.
The app currently supports LRT-1, LRT-2, and MRT-3, with plans to include MRT-7. It gives commuters a clear view of train movements, helping them plan trips better and avoid long station waits. Operators can also use the system to respond faster to problems and improve accountability.
Crusem’s team is coordinating with government agencies to support the rollout. For now, the beta version of TrainSight can be sideloaded on Android devices or accessed via the web at rail.trainsight.app. A full release on Google Play is expected in August, followed by the Apple App Store between September and October 2026.

The developer aims to expand the platform to cover buses and other public transport in the future. With real-time tracking, TrainSight could make commuting more predictable and less stressful for thousands of daily riders.
