Marvel has confirmed two big casting updates at San Diego Comic-Con. Ryan Gosling will star as Ghost Rider, while David Jonsson joins Black Panther 3 as T’Challa’s son. Both films are part of Marvel’s next wave of releases.
Ghost Rider will be directed by Shawn Levy (Deadpool & Wolverine, Free Guy), with Gosling taking on the role of the fiery antihero. Black Panther 3 continues the franchise’s legacy, introducing Jonsson (The Long Walk, Alien: Romulus) as the next generation of Wakanda’s royal line. The film is set to hit theaters on December 15, 2028.
Marvel also shared a first look at Avengers: Doomsday, scheduled for December 18, 2028. The release date sets up a direct clash with Dune 3, a box office showdown already nicknamed “Dunesday.” Before that, Avengers: Secret Wars will arrive in December 2027.
The studio’s announcements underline its dominance in global cinema. Marvel films have earned nearly $33 billion worldwide, making it the highest-grossing movie franchise. Avengers: Endgame still holds the spot as the second-highest-grossing film of all time.
