Apple Pay rumored to launch in the Philippines this August

Rumors are growing that Apple Pay might launch soon in the Philippines, with signs pointing to a rollout as early as August 4, 2026. Redditors were the first to spot clues, including posters, questionable online ads, and even training guides, which are fueling speculation that the service is about to go live.

Apple Pay was earlier reported to arrive in Q3 2026, following the launch of Google Pay in November 2025. The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas has also confirmed that local banks are ready to support the service, which could mean the infrastructure is ready.

Several banks have been named as possible partners, as well, including BPI, Chinabank, EastWest, and Metrobank. If confirmed, iPhone and Apple Watch users in the country could soon make contactless payments at supported merchants. This would give Filipino iPhone and Apple Watch users another option for secure and convenient cashless transactions.

However, at the time of writing this article, the Philippines is still not listed on Apple Pay’s official support page. We can also confirm that we still cannot add cards to the Wallet app.

That gap leaves the rollout unconfirmed, despite the clues. Until Apple or its banking partners make an official announcement, this launch remains speculation.
