OpenAI has started rolling out GPT-6 Astra, its most powerful AI model yet. The company says Astra is built to handle complex tasks while keeping safety safeguards in place.
Astra works across professional workflows. It can build websites, make presentations, design CAD models, and solve open math problems. It also supports science, software engineering, and cybersecurity. Benchmark scores show Astra leading with 98% on FrontierMath Tier 4, 99.9% on ARC-AGI-3, and 100% on ExploitBench.
Compared to GPT-5.6 Sol and rival models, Astra is faster and more efficient. It finishes tasks quicker and at lower API costs, making it more practical for business use. OpenAI says Astra is also more aligned, refusing to go beyond task limits and offering stronger monitoring against misuse.
The rollout starts with ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users. Astra is also available through API access on Azure and AWS Bedrock. For now, early access is limited to cybersecurity customers and higher-tier paid users, with a wider release planned soon.
