YouTube just announced a big set of updates at its Made On YouTube 2026 event. The platform is adding AI editing, custom feeds, and new tools for creators and brands.
Viewers can now build custom homepage feeds using simple prompts. Ask YouTube now recommends products, artists, and podcasts. Shorts also get a Series format so episodes can be grouped into seasons for easier viewing.
Creators get more editing help. YouTube Studio now supports A/B testing with up to three video cuts to see which one keeps viewers watching. AI editing in Shorts and the YouTube Create app trims pauses, adjusts pacing, and suggests edits. Studio can also generate thumbnails that match a channel’s style.
Safety tools are also stronger. Creators will get mobile alerts if their face or voice is detected in other content. Voice and facial detection now work together for better protection.
Community and live features are growing. Creators can merge streams for live showdowns, use auto dubbing in real time to reach global audiences, and host Watch With sessions on long videos. Members-only spaces and AI comment moderation improve community control.
On the business side, Creator Partnerships connect brands with creators. Ask Studio helps with responses to briefs and pitches. The affiliate program expands to 35 countries with Amazon integration in more regions. Product tags now adjust offers based on viewer location.
