Globe has entered the tablet market. It’s a Globe-branded tablet, alright, but it’s actually the 7-inch Huawei Mediapad launched months ago. The tablet is called Tattoo Mediapad and if there’s anything new about it, it’s the fact that it’s now running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich instead of the Honeycomb flavor it originally came with. The basic specs of the Tattoo Mediapad include a 7-inch screen, 1280 x 800 HD display, 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, a 5 Megapixel camera and 8GB internal storage that is expandable to 32 GB via microSD.
The Tattoo Mediapad is priced at P10,990 but there’s a catch. When you purchase the Tattoo Mediapad, you’re required to subscribe to a Tattoo Personalized Plan 999 with a 24-mont lock-in period. A Tattoo Personalized Plan 999 gets you a base speed of up to 7.2 mbps. That’s quite a long lock-in period so if you’re up to it, you may want to check it out.
The Tattoo Mediapad is cheap if you leave out the 24-month lock-in period out of the equation. But you might want to consider other available options in the market. There are a lot of new tablets with great specs but what the Tattoo Mediapad has over the others, if at all, is that it is 3G-capable.
And one other thing. Globe’s Tattoo Mediapad can be purchased on installment for up to 12 months at 0% interest.

With globe’s 800mb/day hard cap? no thanks.
with the personalized tattoo plan with a lock-in period of 2 year, this tablet could have been FREE.
