Google Maps for iPhone Now Available for Download

After months of speculation, Google has finally delivered its popular Maps app to the iPhone and iOS.  We know by now how terrible Apple’s Maps app is on iOS 6.  It has inspired many jokes and caused too much headache to iPhone users and some governments even have the apprehension that Apple’s Maps app will cause accidents to its users.

Luckily for iPhone and iOS 6 users, a native Google Maps is now available and ready for download.   Google Maps is free to download so if you’re that excited you may head over to the iTunes Store or App Store immediately.

Google Maps for the iPhone has built-in Google local search, voice guided turn-by-turn navigation, public transit directions, Street View and other features.  For the Search feature, Google Maps allows users to find addresses, places and businesses around the world with Google local search, discover places to eat, drink, shop and play, with ratings and local reviews, and sync your searches, directions, and favorite places with a computer.  For Directions, it offers voice guided, turn-by-turn driving directions, directions for travelling by train, bus, subway or walking, and access to live traffic information. There’s also Street View where users can view 360-degree panoramas and 100,000 businesses worldwide.

Google Maps has a clean and simple interface users shouldn’t have a hard time using the app.  With iPhone users desperate for a dependable and usable maps app, Google Maps should hit millions of downloads in no time. Download the Google Maps app here.
