We have all heard stories of how tough Sony’s flagships are. Now, Sony is bringing that waterproof toughness to the mid-range sector with their recent announcement of the Xperia M2 Aqua.

What makes the Xperia M2 Aqua mid-range is the specs. The phone comes with a 4.8 inch qHD display, a 1.2GHz Snapdragon CPU, Adreno 305 graphics, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. It runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Sony’s UI on top. There is no information on the price as of the moment.

The specs aren’t bad at all. It’s UI (backed by KitKat) will most likely be smooth. And the 8MP camera has the extra functions found in current Xperia phones. Those, coupled with the design (which I think is really nice) might just make this phone a nice mid-range contender. I guess only the price will determine if the M2 Aqua can really compete.
