Samsung announces power sharing cable

Samsung announces a nifty new micro USB to micro USB cable that will allow you to charge other gadgets from a Galaxy device. Very nifty indeed if you are using any one of the supported devices. The cable is said to officially work with the Galaxy S 5, Galaxy Tab S 10.5, Galaxy Tab S 8.4, Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy Avant and Galaxy Note 4. Most likely because these devices come with humongous batteries.

The cable will also come with an app for Samsung supported devices that will let you choose how much power you are willing to give to the device you are charging. Very handy for monitoring and managing the charging process. At least you won’t accidentally drain your Galaxy phone or tablet.

The cable will retail for $19.99 (less than P900) in the US, with no news yet on when it will be available in other markets.
