Samsung Galaxy Watch announced at 2018 Unpacked event

Aside from the Galaxy Note 9, Samsung also announced the new Samsung Galaxy Watch. Features Always On Display, improved battery life.

Samsung announced the new Galaxy Watch, along with the Note 9. The wearable features an improved battery life, LTE connectivity, wellness capabilities, an Always On Display, and rotating bezel for controls.

The new wearable comes in two case sizes — 46mm and 42mm. The former has a 1.3-inch display and a 472 mAh battery that is said to last up to 80+ hours, while the latter a 1.2-inch display and a smaller 270 mAh battery capable of lasting up to 45+ hours. All displays use Super AMOLED technology, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass DX+. The watch also has a military-level durability certification.

There are also two variants — 4G LTE and Bluetooth only. Powering the wearables are dual-core Exynos 9110 processors with 4GB storage. It also comes with an IP68 rating, and up to 5ATM (which means water resistance up to 165 feet or 50 meters.

Aside from the specs, the Galaxy Watch also benefits from the Galaxy Ecosystem with SmartThings, Samsung Health, Samsung Flow, Samsung Knox, Samsung Pay, Bixby and with partnerships like Spotify and Under Armour.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch will be available in the US starting August 24, in Korea on August 31, and in select markets on September 14, 2018.
