Noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kou released his latest predictions about the iPhone 2018 lineup. Cheapest iPhone will be late, no Apple Pencil support either.

2018 iPhone Rumor Lineup

It is widely believed that Apple will release three new iPhones for 2018. Known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kou stands by his prediction that there will be a two OLED iPhones (6.5-inch and 5.8-inch) and a cheaper 6.1-inch model with an LCD display.

According to his latest predictions, the two OLED iPhones will be announced sometime September. But he believes the more affordable 6.1-inch iPhone will launch at a later date. While no exact date was mentioned, the reports suggest an October announcement.

Kou also mentions that all three iPhones will feature a new A12 SoC, wireless charging, Face ID, and a display notch. He also adds that the 6.5-inch and 6.1-inch iPhones will come with a dual SIM option, with the smaller 5.8-inch having just a single SIM tray.

And lastly, the analyst also shoots down rumors of the Apple Pencil support for the three iPhones. The reason behind this is that he believes it won’t offer a good user experience despite the large display.

Kou believes Apple will continue to grow iPhone shipments in the fourth quarter of 2018. He expects the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone to lead the charge, saying more than half the sales will be coming from the device.
