Xiaomi Mi Play is now official; Features Helio P35, tear drop notch

Xiaomi recently launched the Mi Play in China. The budget handset arrives in time for the holidays and features a MediaTek processor and tear drop notch.

The Mi Play is competitively priced at CNY1,099 (roughly PHP8,500) and comes with a front design reminiscent of the OPPO F9 thanks to the tear drop notch.

The phone features a 5.84-inch IPS display with a 19:9 aspect ratio, a MediaTek Helio P35 processor, 4GB RAM, and 64GB of expandable storage.

For photography, it has a 12MP main camera and an 8MP shooter for selfies. The phone also comes with a fairly average 3,000 mAh battery onboard and runs on MIUI 10 on top of Android 9 Pie.

The Mi Play has mostly standard specs, but it comes with a lot of free data in China — 10GB 4G data every month for a year.

The phone is currently a China only handset with no advise if it will go global.
