Mislatel is targeting network rollout next month July as the third major telecommunications company in the Philippines.

The Mislatel Consortium, composed of Udenna Corporation, Chelsea Logistics and Infrastructure Holdings Corp., and China Telecommunications Corporation, recently signed the Share-Purchase Agreement (SPA) to obtain a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN) from the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) by July.

The signing brings the telco one step closer to operating as the country’s third telecommunications player, allowing them to proceed with their network rollout.

Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Acting Secretary Eliseo Rio Jr. earlier stated that they are ready to award Mislatel with frequency bands of 700 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2000 MHz, 2.5 GHz, 3.3 GHz and 3.5 GHz.

Once they get the CPCN and the frequencies, the DICT will monitor Mislatel’s compliance to its commitments, including its investment in capital and operation expenditure of PHP 150 billion in the first year of operations, and more importantly, providing broadband speeds of up to 27Mbps to over 37.04% of our population.
