Huawei Mate Xs 2 foldable phone is now official globally

Huawei unveiled the crown jewel of its devices during its flagship launch. The Huawei Mate Xs 2 foldable phone is official globally, joining the Huawei Watch GT 3, Huawei Watch Fit 2, Huawei Watch D, Huawei S-Tag, and the Huawei Band 7.

The Huawei Watch GT 3 and the Watch Fit 2 are coming to the Philippines this month, priced at Php 16,999 and Php 6,499, respectively. The Huawei Mate Xs 2 will launch sometime in July 2022, while the Watch D and Band 7 on a much later date.

Huawei’s new foldable is priced at EUR 1,999, which is roughly around ~Php 110,000. Expect local pricing to be somewhere in that range.

The Huawei Mate Xs 2 is the brand’s new flagship foldable smartphone. Weighing only 255g with a thickness of only 5.4mm, the phone has a 3D Fiberglass build and a Falcon Wing Design that allows it to have an ultra-flat surface that is both minimalistic and natural. It looks quite good, actually, and feels very premium.

The device is truly made for content consumption thanks to an expansive 7.8-inch OLED display when fully open. When closed, it transforms into a 6.5-inch phone, which is still huge by today’s standards. The displays also have an Anti-Reflective Nano Optical layer to reduce glare.

As for the cameras, it features a 50MP main with an 8MP telephoto with OIS and 3x optical zoom, and a 13MP ultra-wide. For selfies, you also get a 10MP shooter.

Inside is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor with a 4G modem, 8GB RAM, and 512GB storage. It also features a 4600mAh Silicon-Based Anode battery and a 66W Huawei SuperCharge that allows a 90% charge within 30minutes.
