Amazon Prime Video drops its subscription price in the Philippines

In the wake of HBO GO increasing its subscription fee in the Philippines, Netflix losing subscribers, and the launch of Lionsgate Play, Amazon Prime Video drops its subscription fee.

We don’t know exactly when they changed it, but it looks like Prime Video’s subscription fee is now P149 per month. Previously, the price was set at P259 per month.

Prime Video only has one subscription tier and offers up to ultra HD video quality. You can stream on up to 3 devices at the same time. They also offer X-Ray for Movies and TV, which helps viewers identify actors and songs, explore actor bios, view trivia, and more.

With the lower subscription fee, now is an excellent time to get into Prime Video. The size of their library isn’t as vast as Netflix’s, but the streaming platform offers fresh content with a host of interesting original movies and TV shows, such as The Boys, Upload, Reacher, Paper Girls, The Wheel of Time, and The Terminal List.

Also coming this September is the highly anticipated Lord of the Rings prequel, The Rings of Power. It’s set thousands of years before The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings in the Second Age of Middle-earth’s history. It tells the story of the forging of the Rings of Power, the rise of Sauron, the fall of the island kingdom of Númenor, and the last alliance between Elves and Men.

If you want to give Amazon Prime Video a try, they also offer a free 7-day trial before you subscribe.
