ECHO, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang win big at first Mobile Gaming Awards with four trophies

The popular MOBA game takes home four trophies, including ‘Mobile Esports Tournament Of The Year’ for its M4 World Championship.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang swept the first-ever Mobile Gaming Awards (or MOBIES for short) on Monday, taking home four trophies for its achievements in mobile gaming and esports.

The game, developed by MOONTON Games, won the coveted ‘Mobile Esports Tournament Of The Year‘ award for its M4 World Championship, which featured 16 teams from 14 regions competing for a prize pool of $300,000. The tournament, which was held in Jakarta, Indonesia, in January 2023, drew more than 4.27 million viewers online and showcased the high level of skill and strategy involved in mobile esports.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang also won the ‘Competitive Game Of The Year‘ award, beating out other nominees. The game, which has over 1 billion downloads worldwide, is known for its fast-paced and action-packed gameplay, as well as its diverse and colorful roster of heroes.

The game’s success was also reflected in the individual awards, as ECHO, the Philippine team that won the M4 World Championship, was named the ‘Mobile Team Of The Year‘, and Bennyqt, the team’s star player who plays the role of marksman, was crowned the ‘Mobile Player Of The Year‘.

“We are extremely thankful and humbled to have the opportunity to be at the MOBIES and to walk off with not one, but several awards,” stated Kelly Chiew, Head of Public Relations, MOONTON Games, “Our success would not have been made possible without the support of our fans, partners, and more importantly our team that has worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the magic happen. Kudos to ECHO as well for their hard work over the past year!”

The MOBIES, which stands for Mobile Gaming & Esports Awards, was held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The event celebrated the best mobile games and esports titles that have made an impact in the industry over the past year. The winners were determined by a panel of judges consisting of industry experts, journalists, influencers, and gamers.
