Baby Groot is back for more adventures in season 2 of “I Am Groot” on Disney+

The Marvel Studios series returns with five new animated adventures featuring Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot.

Disney+ has announced that the second season of “I Am Groot” will premiere on September 6, with five new shorts featuring the adorable and mischievous Baby Groot. The series, which is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, follows the exploits of the sentient tree-like creature as he explores the galaxy with his fellow Guardians of the Galaxy.

Vin Diesel, who voices Groot in the movies, returns to lend his voice to the character in the animated shorts. Kirsten Lepore, who wrote and directed the first season, also returns for the second season. The series is produced by Marvel Studios, with Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, and Kirsten Lepore serving as executive producers.

The second season’s trailer, released on August 8, shows Baby Groot encountering various aliens and planets, as well as some familiar faces from the Marvel universe. The trailer also teases some challenges and dangers that Baby Groot will face, such as a giant worm, a space pirate, and a hungry plant.

The first season of “I Am Groot” debuted on Disney+ in May 2022 and received positive reviews from critics and fans alike. The series was praised for its humor, animation and charm, as well as for expanding the lore of the Marvel universe. The series also won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Short Form Animated Program in 2022.

The second season of “I Am Groot” will be available to stream exclusively on Disney+ starting on September 6. A Disney+ subscription in the Philippines starts at ₱159 per month for the Mobile Plan, and ₱369 per month for the Premium Plan.
