GoDigital Pilipinas launches Cashless Expo 2023 to promote digital transformation

GoDigital Pilipinas is hosting the first-ever Cashless Expo 2023 from November 17 to 19 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

The event aims to showcase the benefits and opportunities of digital transactions and to support the “Bagong Pilipinas” movement and President Ferdinand Marcos Jr’s vision of making the Philippines a global leader in the digital era.

The 3-day expo will feature hundreds of exhibitors from various sectors, including farmers and SMEs, who are embracing the cashless movement and accepting digital payment methods such as e-wallets, digital banks, and debit/credit cards. The event will also offer a one-stop bazaar where visitors can shop for the best products from all regions of the Philippines at affordable prices.

According to Executive Director Mishy Co, the expo is a celebration of digital progress and innovation that will boost the confidence and awareness of Filipino consumers and merchants in using digital transactions. “The organizers and stakeholders from both the public and private sectors are joining together in order to create awareness and boost the Filipino consumer’s confidence in exploring the world of digital transactions and understanding its countless advantages,” Co said.

The expo is supported by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Department of Agriculture (DA), and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), which are also committed to fostering a connected and digitally inclusive society.

The event is co-sponsored by some of the leading companies in the fintech industry, such as Maya and GCash, as well as other partners such as PLDT, Visa, Unionbank, Tiktok, Lazada, Zalora, McDonald’s, UnionDigital Bank, RCBC, Grab, and Foodpanda.

Aside from the exhibits and bazaar, the expo will also provide engaging talks and insightful learning sessions curated by stakeholders from both the public and private sectors. The topics will cover various aspects of digital transformation, such as convenience, security, sustainability, and prosperity.

Co explained that the expo aims to provide visitors with an immersive and transformative journey that will help them appreciate the advantages of going cashless. “We are all united in these key messaging pillars: 1. Digital transformation is the key to propelling economic growth and prosperity; 2. Digital transactions are both convenient and secure; and 3. Switching to digital payments reduces the cost associated with producing and managing physical currency, thereby fostering financial stability and sustainability,” Co said.
