All major ISPs tied in Netflix’s Philippine ISP Speed Index for April 2024

While most ISPs globally maintained their speeds from March, the Philippines remained stagnant.

Filipino Netflix users are experiencing average streaming speeds, according to the latest Netflix ISP Speed Index for April 2024.

All five major ISPs in the Philippines – PLDT, Globe, Converge ICT, Royal Cable, and SKYCable – are tied with a score of 2.8 Mbps, falling short of the global top-tier average of 3.0 Mbps.

While most ISPs globally maintained their speeds from March, the Philippines remained stagnant. However, this doesn’t mean Filipino viewers experience buffering or lower picture quality compared to users in other countries with faster speeds.

According to the ISP Speed Index, 34 countries and regions like Australia, Canada, and Japan, enjoy a smoother streaming experience with speeds of 3.0 Mbps.

Conversely, four countries saw a slight decrease in speeds, with South Africa and Vietnam dropping from 2.8 Mbps to 2.6 Mbps; while Argentina and Uruguay dropped from 3.0 Mbps to 2.8 Mbps.

The Netflix ISP Speed Index solely reflects prime-time Netflix performance and doesn’t represent overall internet speed. For a more comprehensive internet speed test, users can visit FAST.com or download the FAST Speed Test app for Android and iOS.
