Riot Games Philippines has officially kicked off nationwide registration for the Liga Republika Open Qualifiers.
The registration period is from June 3 to June 20. Hopeful teams of at least five can register for one or all four qualifier rounds. A total of 512 teams are expected to compete for the 12 slots in the group stage. The open qualifier rounds are from July 13 to August 2.
Liga Republika serves as a springboard for Filipino talent, fostering a competitive environment and nurturing future international contenders.
“We are excited for the launch of Liga Republika to reinvigorate Filipino players and the wider League of Legends community,” said Joel Guzman, Country Manager of Riot Games Philippines. “We are confident that Liga Republika is the right next step to take in improving the competitive League of Legends scene in the Philippines.”
Last year’s Liga Republika Kickoff Invitational saw powerhouse teams Guardian’s Hive and Looking for Sponsor (LFS) dominate the competition. These teams, alongside Fantasy Esports and Ninja Alpha, have already secured their spots in the August group stage.
The competition intensifies in the playoffs, where eight teams will compete for a place in the offline LAN event finale in September. Here, the top four finalists will battle for a hefty prize pool of one million pesos.
The revamped global LoL Esports ecosystem promises a fresh start for players and communities via a new merit-based system for regional competition and collaboration. In the APAC region, this includes a “hybrid partnership plus promotion/relegation league model.”
This model, implemented in future seasons, allows guest teams from domestic leagues like Southeast Asia to compete for promotion and potentially secure berths in international events.
