Globe is urging its customers to ensure their SIM registration information is updated. This aligns with the SIM Registration Act, a law implemented in December 2022 that mandates user registration to boost public safety.
The Act requires accurate and complete details during registration, including a valid government ID. Customers can now easily update their registration through Globe’s online platform if their circumstances have changed since initial registration.
“We understand that life circumstances may change,” said Darius Delgado, Globe Vice President and Head of Consumer Mobile Business. “Our goal is to make the update process as convenient as possible, ensuring that they remain compliant with the law while minimizing any potential disruptions to their mobile services.”
Why update your SIM registration
- Change of residence: A new address reflects your current location.
- Name change: Getting married or legally changing your name requires updating your registered name.
- Updated ID: An expired ID needs to be replaced with a current one.
How to update your SIM registration details
Globe encourages customers to use the update option, introduced last year, to stay compliant. The company emphasizes submitting accurate details and a genuine photo ID. Providing false information or neglecting to update details could incur penalties as outlined by the law.
An individual can update their registration details twice annually. The update process on the Globe SIM registration portal is straightforward:
- Log in to the Globe SIM registration portal.
- Navigate to the registration section and select “Edit.”
- Make the necessary changes to personal information, such as name, address, email, and profile picture.
- Save the updated information and confirm successful storage.
