PLDT and Smart accelerate network restoration and relief efforts post-Kristine

PLDT and Smart Communications are hard at work restoring network services in areas affected by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine. As commercial power returns to regions like Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, and Camarines Sur, the telco giants are repairing damaged lines to bring connectivity back to affected communities.

While network restoration is ongoing, PLDT and Smart, through their corporate social responsibility arm, Alagang Kapatid Foundation, Inc. (AKFI), have already initiated relief operations. Food and medicine have been distributed to employees impacted by the typhoon, with additional supplies being transported to affected areas.

To further support relief efforts, the public can contribute online donations through AKFI and Maya, PLDT Group’s fintech unit.

PLDT and Smart’s commitment to disaster resilience is evident in their active participation in PROTECTA Pilipinas, an alliance dedicated to enhancing the resilience of telecom networks.

By collaborating with public agencies and private companies, the group aims to minimize disruptions and ensure reliable connectivity, even in the face of natural disasters.
