Redmi Turbo 4 is first to have MediaTek’s big core Dimensity 8400 Ultra

MediaTek has just introduced its new Dimensity 8400 with an “All Big Core” design. Following this, Xiaomi announced the Redmi Turbo 4, its upcoming phone featuring the Dimensity 8400-Ultra.

The handset is being touted as the first smartphone of 2025, with a launch date set for New Year’s Day in China. This contradicts MediaTek’s earlier statement that the first phones powered by their chip would arrive near the end of 2024. Nevertheless, Redmi has already started accepting pre-orders for the device.

The Dimensity 8400-Ultra promises to bring significant performance improvements with enhanced multitasking and optimization, particularly for AI and gaming tasks. Additionally, it is expected to be more power-efficient as well.

Although there are no official details yet about the specs and features of the phone, leaks suggest a 1.5K LTPS display, a massive 6500mAh battery with 90W fast charging, and a 50MP main camera.

In the meantime, there are rumors the phone might be rebranded as the Poco X7 Pro for the global market.

More information will be revealed as the Redmi Turbo 4’s launch date approaches. In the meantime, stay tuned for updates.
