vivo X200 review

vivo brought its latest flagship device, the X200, to the Philippines. Priced at PHP 57,999, this handset blends powerful ZEISS cameras with premium features such as a large OLED display, a MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processor, and a 90W wired fast charging.

We gave the phone a run to see if it’s worth the hefty price tag, and here are our findings. Let’s get into it.

Design and Display

The vivo X200 features a clean design with curved edges and corners, resulting in a sleek profile and comfortable grip.

The phone has good size, packing a 6.67-inch display, sitting comfortably between an OPPO Find X8 and a Samsung Galaxy S25+. It measures 160.27 × 74.81 × 7.99 mm and weighs 202g. It feels quite substantial in the hand and, thanks to its form factor, is comfortable to hold.

Back to the screen, the X200’s 6.67-inch display has an AMOLED panel with an FHD 2800×1260, a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision content.

As expected, the display itself is excellent with vibrant colors and deep blacks. It also has a peak brightness of 4500 nits, which means good outdoor visibility under direct sunlight.

The X200 also features volume rockers and a power button on the right side. The device includes stereo speakers, a USB-C port, and an IR blaster for remote control functionality.

Performance

As expected from a flagship phone, the X200 delivers strong performance in spades. Under the hood, it has the same MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processor found on the OPPO Find X8. We already know what to expect: It can easily handle demanding tasks, including gaming and multitasking.

The phone comes with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a generous 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. As per usual, you can apply RAM expansion to enhance performance further.

The X200 runs on Funtouch OS 15, on top of Android 15. It is intuitive and easy to use. However, you do get to feel its age. It may be time for a visual upgrade.

Additionally, it comes with a good amount of bloatware. Just uninstall or disable those you won’t use. In terms of updates, expect 4 years of major Android OS updates and 5 years of security patches.

As stated, the X200 delivers impressive performance. We have no complaints on this end. In day-to-day use, the device is smooth and responsive, and it easily manages multitasking, gaming, and media consumption. The speaker quality is also excellent. The in-display fingerprint scanner is quick and responsive.

Its overall performance is attested by benchmark tests.

  • Geekbench 6

Cameras

The X200 features a triple-camera system, co-engineered with ZEISS. It has a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 3.7x optical zoom. It also has a 32MP front shooter.

As always with vivo’s X-series, the camera quality is excellent with impressive detail and punchy colors. Photos are sharp with good dynamic range. The cameras also perform admirably in low-light conditions.

Battery and Charging

The X200’s larger build allows it to accommodate a bigger battery. It boasts a 5800mAh capacity that supports 90W wired charging. Unfortunately, there is no wireless charging available, as this feature is reserved for the larger X200 Pro.

As expected, the battery is impressive. In daily use, the phone lasted a full day, even with heavy usage. In the PC Mark Work 3.0 Battery Life test, the phone scored 16 hours and 26 minutes. The test was conducted with the battery at 85%, brightness set at 80%, volume muted, and in airplane mode. This translated to around 7 hours and 32 minutes of screen time.

The included 90W charger can charge the battery from 5% to 100% in 1 hour. Meanwhile, a brisk 30-minute charge can give as much as 52%.

Closing Remarks

The vivo X200 excels in balancing style, performance, and imaging capabilities, making it an attractive option in the flagship market. Priced competitively at PHP 57,999, the X200 offers excellent value with its sleek design and powerful cameras.

While it does have minor setbacks like bloatware and an aging OS, these are overshadowed by its strengths. The X200 stands out as a well-rounded flagship that offers great value for money, making it one of the top contenders in the smartphone industry.
