HONOR Magic7 Pro to receive 7 years Android updates

HONOR’s latest flagship, the Magic7 Pro, will receive 7 years of Android updates and 7 years of security patches. The premium device was initially planned to get only 5 years of updates.

HONOR ALPHA PLAN 7 Magic7 Pro years update

This updated policy is part of the HONOR ALPHA PLAN, unveiled last March, which aims to position the company as a leader in AI-driven devices. The Magic7 Pro is the first HONOR smartphone to benefit from this initiative.

While it’s unclear if mid-range models will also enjoy this extended support, it is likely to be rolled out to past HONOR flagship and foldable devices.

The Magic7 Pro boasts a 200MP periscope telephoto camera with up to 3x optical zoom and 100x AI SuperZoom. Accompanying this are a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP front camera integrated with a 3D face-scanning sensor within a pill-shaped cutout.

It has a 6.8-inch micro quad curved LTPO OLED display with a 2800×1280 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 5000 nits, and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. Under the hood, it is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with a 5850mAh battery that supports 100W wired and 80W wireless fast charging.

On the software side, the Magic7 Pro runs on MagicOS 9.0 on top of Android 15, promising seven years of Android updates and seven years of security patches, making it a long-lasting investment.

Price and Pre-Order

The HONOR Magic7 Pro is available for ₱59,999 in the Philippines, with pre-orders open until April 25. Buyers will also receive a complimentary JBL Soundgear Frames worth ₱9,499 with their purchase.
