Valenzuela City deploys largest electric police fleet in the Philippines

The city government has introduced 41 BYD Dolphin EVs for police patrols, first responder operations, and administrative use.

As part of its modernization and sustainability initiatives, the Valenzuela City Government in the Philippines, in collaboration with BYD Cars Philippines and ACMobility, has introduced 41 BYD Dolphin electric vehicles (EVs) for police patrols, first responder operations, and administrative use.

To further support this modernization effort, a network of fifteen 7kW AC chargers has been installed in 12 locations in the city, strategically placed along major roads such as NLEX, MacArthur Highway, and Mindanao Avenue. These charging stations ensure the city’s BYD Dolphin EV patrol car fleet can serve the various communities they are assigned.

BYD Cars Philippines Managing Director Bob Palanca emphasized the importance of the initiative, stating, “These EVs will now serve and protect the people, not just as tools of law enforcement, but as symbols of a cleaner, smarter, and more responsible future.”

This initiative positions Valenzuela as the first local government unit (LGU) in the Philippines to operate the country’s largest electric vehicle police fleet. This drive toward a cleaner environment is not just about upgrading technology, but also aiming for a healthier and more eco-friendly city.

Hopefully, more cities will take inspiration from Valenzuela and prioritize similar sustainable initiatives in the future.
