Google offers free AI tools to college students in select countries

Sign up by October 6.

Google is offering college students free access to its top AI tools for one year. The Gemini 2.5 Pro plan includes features that help with homework, writing, coding, and research. Students in the US, Japan, Indonesia, Korea, and Brazil can sign up until October 6, 2025.

The free plan includes:

  • Gemini 2.5 Pro for fast answers and writing help
  • Deep Research for gathering info from across the web
  • NotebookLM to organize notes and ideas
  • Veo 3 to turn text or images into short videos
  • Jules, an AI coding assistant
  • 2 TB of cloud storage for files and projects

A new feature called Guided Learning is also part of the offer. It helps students learn step by step, instead of just giving answers. Google worked with teachers and researchers to make sure it supports real learning.

To support AI education, Google is investing $1 billion over three years in US programs. This includes free AI and career training through the Google AI for Education Accelerator. Over 100 colleges have joined so far.

Google says these tools will help students learn better and prepare for future jobs. More countries will get access to the offer soon. Stay tuned.
