Google expands Personal Intelligence to more apps

Google is expanding its Personal Intelligence feature to more of its services, starting in the US. The update brings the tool to AI Mode in Search, the Gemini app, and Gemini in Chrome, giving users a more consistent experience across platforms.

Personal Intelligence connects with Google apps like Gmail and Photos to provide answers that fit your needs. It can suggest restaurants during a layover, recommend products based on past purchases, or help troubleshoot your phone by knowing the exact model. The idea is to save time by letting Google’s AI understand context without you having to repeat details.

The rollout is available to personal Google accounts, but not to Workspace users. Google says the feature is free and optional. You can choose which apps to connect, and you can turn them off anytime.

The company also emphasized that Gemini does not train directly on your inbox or photo library. Only limited prompts and responses are used to improve the service.

Adding Personal Intelligence to more apps will make AI tools feel more natural and useful in everyday tasks. The company focuses on privacy, choice, and transparency as key parts of the rollout.
