The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will begin clearing vendors and other obstructions along the walkways near MRT-3 and LRT-1 Taft/EDSA stations.

Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon led an inspection of the area and confirmed that the cleanup will focus on both northbound and southbound walkways of MRT-3.
Dizon also criticized Metro Point Mall for charging vendors rent at the MRT-3 southbound exit, which he said is government property. He stressed that vendors should not be blocking public walkways and confirmed that they will be removed.
The DOTr and MMDA will work together to enforce the cleanup and ensure that walkways remain clear for commuters. No timeline was given, but Dizon said the effort is part of a broader push to improve public transport infrastructure and accessibility.
This initiative is one of several recent efforts by the DOTr to address commuter concerns and improve the overall experience of using Metro Manila’s rail systems.
