LRT-2 piso fare promo extended until August 31

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has extended the LRT-2 piso fare promo until August 31, 2026. The program is done with RCBC and the Social Security System (SSS).

Commuters can join the promo by using their MySSS Card Powered by RCBC DiskarTech or RCBC MyDebit Mastercard at cashless fare gates. Each ride costs only ₱1, letting passengers save up to ₱17 per trip, depending on where they get off.

The piso fare cashback can be used up to eight times per day, making it useful for students, workers, and anyone who rides often. After that, subsequent rides within the same calendar day will be charged the standard fare.

Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez said the savings can go to school allowance, food, or medicine, helping families manage daily expenses.

The extension means more riders can benefit from the program through the rest of August. With fares cut to just a peso, commuters have a few more weeks to stretch their budget while traveling across Metro Manila.
