Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao is set to lead Team Philippines in Netflix’s upcoming reality competition series Physical: Asia. The show is part of the Physical:100 franchise and will feature athletes from eight countries competing in strength-based challenges.
Pacquiao, the only eight-division world champion in boxing history, joins 47 other elite athletes from Korea, Japan, Thailand, Mongolia, Türkiye, Indonesia, Australia, and the Philippines. Each country will be represented by a six-person team, led by a national sports icon.
The series will test physical strength, strategy, and teamwork. It will also highlight traditional sports such as Korean ssireum, Mongolian wrestling, Turkish oil wrestling, and Muay Thai. Pacquiao’s team will compete in events that mix modern and heritage disciplines.
Other team leaders include UFC champion Robert Whittaker for Australia, MMA fighter Yushin Okami for Japan, and Muay Thai champion Superbon for Thailand. The show aims to showcase national pride through athletic competition.

Physical: Asia will premiere globally on Netflix this October. It marks the franchise’s first nation-versus-nation format, following earlier versions in the US and Italy.
Pacquiao’s presence adds star power and experience to Team Philippines, making them one of the teams to watch in this international showdown.
