The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has responded to reports of an alleged data breach involving the eGov PH platform. Claims circulating online suggest that over 30,000 complainant records were exposed.
In a statement posted on Facebook on September 22, DICT clarified that the eGov PH App itself was not hacked. The issue involves a third-party system called eComplaints, which is separate from the app’s core infrastructure.
DICT said there is no evidence of a breach within the eGov PH App. All personal data stored in the platform remains encrypted and protected under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and global cybersecurity standards.
The agency emphasized its commitment to transparency and said it will release updates once more verified information is available. The department said it will continue to strengthen its systems to prevent similar incidents.
This clarification comes amid growing public concern over digital security and government-managed platforms.
