X has released a new messaging app called Chat, designed to give users more privacy when communicating.

The app offers end-to-end encryption for messages and file sharing. It also includes disappearing messages, screenshot blocking, and options to edit or delete sent texts.
Voice and video calls are supported, and a voice memo feature is in development. Chat is available now on iOS and the web, with an Android version coming soon.
Chat takes the place of X’s previous messaging system. Existing conversations are expected to remain accessible.
X says the app is free of ads and tracking, aiming to provide a secure space for conversations. Still, the company admits its system does not yet protect against man-in-the-middle attacks.
This means conversations could be intercepted by insiders or through legal processes without users knowing. X is working on new safeguards to make such attacks harder and to notify users if they happen.

With this, X moves into private messaging. While Chat offers stronger privacy tools, full security in messaging remains difficult to achieve. Stay tuned for more updates.
