Garmin has released the fenix 8, now equipped with a MicroLED display. This is the first time the technology has been used in a smartwatch, setting a new standard for brightness and readability.

The display reaches up to 4,500 nits, making it one of the brightest screens available on a wearable. It offers a 15% wider color range, giving more accurate and natural tones. The screen also has a wide viewing angle and stronger contrast, so details stay clear even in direct sunlight.
Garmin has focused on durability as well. The MicroLED panel is built with better burn-in resistance and is three times tougher than earlier models. This should extend the watch’s lifespan and make it more reliable for long-term use.
The fenix 8 continues Garmin’s record for innovation. The fēnix 6 introduced solar charging in 2020, while the fēnix 7 added multi-band GPS and a built-in flashlight in 2022.

The new model builds on that history with advanced health and fitness tools, including endurance and hill scores, daily workout suggestions, sleep tracking, and safety features. Navigation is supported with preloaded maps and dynamic routing.
