Visa and Garmin have officially launched Garmin Pay in the Philippines. This gives smartwatch users a secure and convenient way to make contactless payments. The feature lets you pay using your Visa card linked to a compatible Garmin smartwatch.
Garmin Pay runs on Visa’s tokenization technology, which replaces sensitive card details with unique digital tokens. This helps keep transactions safe and reduces the risk of fraud.
You can use it anywhere that accepts contactless Visa payments, whether you’re buying coffee, groceries, or gear after a workout.
The launch supports Visa’s goal of expanding digital payment adoption in the country. It also supports tourism and travel, offering secure payment experiences for both Filipinos traveling abroad and visitors coming to the country.
Visa’s research shows that 97% of travelers in the Asia Pacific prefer using credit, debit, or prepaid cards on their trips, while only 17% plan to bring foreign currency. In the Philippines, 44% of tourists say they’ve faced payment issues, including non‑acceptance by merchants, something Garmin Pay aims to help address.
