Google has released its Year in Search 2025 report, showing the topics that Filipinos googled the most this year. The list highlights how online habits are shaped by technology, national events, and entertainment.
At the top is Gemini AI, Google’s own AI tool. Its popularity shows how quickly Filipinos are using AI for everyday tasks.
National issues also made the list. “Halalan 2025” ranked second, driven by the midterm elections, while “earthquake near me” landed in the top five after a series of tremors across the country.
Entertainment was another big driver. Netflix’s Squid Game continued to trend after its finale, while Roblox’s “Grow a Garden” became one of the most searched games among younger players.
Filipino pride also stood out. Tennis star Alex Eala topped the female personalities category, boxing legend Manny Pacquiao returned to the sports list, and singer Dionela led the male personalities.
Streaming platforms dominated the shows and series list, with Netflix titles taking the lead. Music searches were led by Tibok and Dionela’s Marilag, alongside global hits like Golden. In sports, NBA matchups and Pacquiao’s fight drew heavy interest.
The report shows how Filipinos balance global pop culture with local pride, while also turning to search for timely updates on elections and safety.
