Apple says those with an Apple Watch are more likely to keep their fitness habits past the usual drop-off in January. According to the Apple Heart and Movement Study, which tracked over 250,000 participants in the US, users consistently increased their daily exercise minutes at the start of the year and maintained those levels well into the months of March, April, and May.

The study found that over 60% of Apple Watch users boosted their activity by at least 10% in the first two weeks of January compared to December. Nearly 80% kept it up through the end of the month, while 90% continued into February and March.
This runs counter to “Quitter’s Day,” the second Friday of January, when many people typically abandon their resolutions.
Apple Watch owners also get extra motivation from limited-edition awards and challenges. These features, paired with Fitness+ programs that offer structured workout plans, make it easier for users to stay consistent.

The data shows that the Apple Watch is more than just a fitness tracker. It’s now a tool that helps users turn short-term resolutions into lasting routines. Stay tuned for updates.
