List of Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO phones with long software update support

Software updates are a big deal these days. They keep phones secure, smooth, and relevant for longer. Xiaomi recently announced extended support for several of its devices, giving select models up to five years of security updates.

That’s a strong move in the Android space, and it puts Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO phones in a better position in terms of longevity.

For smartphones, the Xiaomi 14 series leads the pack with five years of support. The Redmi Note 14 and POCO F7 Pro go even further, with six years of updates.

Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Pad 7 is set to receive four OS upgrades and six years of security patches, lasting until 2031.

On the other hand, midrange models like the Redmi 13C and POCO X6 5G have shorter cycles, around three to four years, while older devices, like the POCO F3, are left out of the new plan.

Longer support means fewer headaches with bugs and vulnerabilities, and more confidence in holding onto your phone for longer.

This means if you’re picking up a new Xiaomi, Redmi, or POCO, you should choose one with guaranteed long-term software updates.
