Phone repair turns criminal: Technician arrested for leaking intimate video

A phone technician in Agusan del Norte was arrested after allegedly leaking an intimate video from a client’s device. The video, involving a Grade 11 student couple, was copied while the phone was in for repair and later spread on social media and within their school community.

Investigators traced the leak to an anonymous Facebook account that posted the clip. The Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 13 secured a warrant and found explicit videos of minors on the suspect’s phone.

Authorities classified the materials as Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials (CSAEM). The technician now faces charges under the Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children law and the CSAEM Act.

Let this be a warning to everyone. Be careful when leaving devices for repair. Only go to trusted shops and avoid leaving your phones unattended.
