Google is bringing music generation to the Gemini app with its new model, Lyria 3. The update lets users make short 30‑second tracks using simple text prompts, photos, or videos. Lyrics, vocals, and even cover art are automatically created, giving anyone a quick way to produce personalized music.
Lyria 3 improves on earlier versions with more realistic audio and richer compositions. Users can adjust the style, tempo, and vocals. The feature also works with YouTube’s Dream Track, which lets creators add custom soundtracks to Shorts.
Google said all generated audio is marked with SynthID, a watermark that shows if the content was AI‑generated. Filters are in place to stop the system from copying specific artists. Gemini can also check if audio, images, or video were made with AI.
The feature is launching in English, German, Spanish, French, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, and Portuguese. It is available now on desktop, with mobile access coming soon. Paid subscribers on Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra plans will get higher usage limits.
