Samsung adds Perplexity AI integration to Galaxy AI

Samsung is bringing Perplexity AI to Galaxy AI as part of its move toward multi-agent support. The company says most users already rely on more than one AI assistant, so this update will make managing them easier and more seamless.

The feature will debut on upcoming flagship devices, including the Galaxy S26 series. It will have system-level integration, which means Galaxy AI will be able to manage different agents without switching between apps.

Perplexity AI will be the first new agent to join. It can be activated by saying “Hey Plex” or by pressing the side button. Plex will also be embedded in Samsung’s core apps with support for select third-party apps as well.

Alongside this, Bixby is getting an upgrade (as part of the One UI 8.5 beta program), allowing natural language support for system settings and real-time web searches.

With Perplexity AI, Galaxy AI will turn into a platform that gives users more choice and control in how they use AI on their devices.

Should multi-agent AI become a standard feature on future smartphones? Stay tuned.
