WhatsApp has announced several updates to make messaging more flexible and easier to manage. The changes are rolling out globally on iOS and Android.

One of the biggest additions is improved storage management. Users can now delete large files directly from chats through the Manage Storage option. Media files can also be cleared while keeping the conversation history intact, helping free up space without losing messages.
Another update is cross‑platform chat transfer. Moving chat history between iOS and Android is now simpler, with only a few taps. This feature also supports transfers within the same platform.
For iPhone users, WhatsApp now supports multiple accounts. Two accounts can be active at the same time, with profile pictures displayed in the bottom tab for easy switching.
WhatsApp is also adding smarter ways to communicate. Stickers are suggested when typing emojis. Meta AI tools are being integrated to edit photos before sending. AI can also suggest draft replies based on the conversation, though chats remain private.
