Funcom has announced that Dune: Awakening, the open‑world survival game inspired by Frank Herbert’s Dune and Denis Villeneuve’s film universe, is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on September 22, 2026.
The game is set on the desert planet of Arrakis and mixes survival gameplay with cinematic storytelling. Players can explore, craft, and fight to survive the harsh sands either solo or online. Developed in collaboration with Legendary Entertainment, it expands the Dune saga beyond the movies.

Pre‑orders are now open on both PlayStation and Xbox stores. The Deluxe Edition ($69.99) and Ultimate Edition ($89.99) include early access and exclusive rewards. Deluxe buyers get a head start, while Ultimate buyers unlock more customization and bonus content.
Funcom said that Dune: Awakening will feature a full single‑player mode, making it accessible even for those who prefer to experience Arrakis alone.
