The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has partnered with Maya to digitally disburse fuel subsidies to public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers and operators. The move supports the government’s push to expand digital channels for social assistance programs amid rising fuel prices.
Under the Fuel Subsidy Program, beneficiaries can now receive aid directly through the Maya app, making the process faster and more convenient. This complements existing government disbursement systems and helps reduce manual or over-the-counter payouts.
The program is part of broader efforts to help the transport sector cope with high fuel costs. Beneficiaries include PUJ, UV Express, taxi, and minibus operators and drivers. Maya has already completed the first round of digital disbursements to qualified recipients.
Validation and identification of beneficiaries remain under the relevant government agencies, ensuring transparency and proper targeting.
LTFRB Chairperson Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II said digital disbursement makes assistance more efficient and accessible while supporting modernization in the transport sector.

“Beyond enabling faster and more convenient access to government assistance, digital accounts can also help transport workers participate more fully in the digital economy through tools such as savings, credit, and cashless transactions,” said Shailesh Baidwan, Group President of Maya and Co-Founder of Maya Bank.
