Maya and Visa have expanded Google Wallet and Google Pay support to all physical and virtual Maya Visa wallet cards in the Philippines. This update lets everyday cardholders make quick, secure contactless payments directly from their Android phones.
The expansion builds on an earlier rollout in November 2025 that covered only Maya credit cards. Now, millions of wallet card users can tap their mobile devices to pay at retail stores, public transit, and tourist spots nationwide.
The system uses Visa tokenization technology to keep your transactions safe. Instead of sharing your actual account details with merchants, the app uses a unique digital token for each purchase. This process hides your real card number and lowers the risk of fraud.
Filipino shoppers are rapidly moving away from physical cash. According to Visa data, 71% of consumers in the Asia Pacific region prefer using mobile or smart devices for in-store and online payments. Moreover, 97% of regional travelers prefer paying with cards over cash.

Users can immediately add their active Maya Visa wallet cards to the Google Wallet app to begin tapping for purchases nationwide.
