Microsoft extends Windows 10 support for another year

Microsoft has extended Windows 10 support for another year, moving the end date to October 12, 2027. This means enrolled devices will continue to receive critical security updates beyond the original October 2026 deadline.

The extension is part of the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program. Users already enrolled don’t need to do anything, as updates will keep coming. This is a big deal for those who prefer Windows 10 or whose PCs don’t meet Windows 11’s stricter hardware requirements.

Microsoft isn’t rebranding the program or making a big announcement. This shows the company is still listening to users who aren’t ready to switch. It also gives businesses and consumers more time to plan their upgrades without rushing.

For now, Windows 10 users get another year of safe use. Whether Microsoft will extend support again beyond 2027 is still up in the air.
